Demeter - Goddess of Agriculture and Fertility
Demeter, the middle daughter of Cronus and Rhea, was the Ancient Greek Goddess of Agriculture and Fertility and one of the original Twelve Olympians.
Her grief over her daughter Persephone – who has to spend half of the year with her husband Hades in the Underworld – is the reason why there is winter; Demeter's joy when reunited with Persephone coincides with the fertile spring and summer months.
Hand-forged and hammered teardrop shaped hoop showcase multi-color pyrite and a citrine sunshine. Earrings measure approximately 1 .25" in diameter and 2 - 1/2" in length.
